After a decade as a mechanical engineer, I've recently transitioned into software development for automated hardware bringup and testing - so I'm at the halfway point between software and hardware. In my free time, I enjoy working on personal projects to build new skills at the intersection of software and hardware. Topics range from training neural networks and LLMs, setting up my homelab and internet system with open source software and firewall, and using my 3D printer to turn CAD designs into functional prototypes and tools. My goal is to share the hands-on lessons I learn through these projects - both the successes and failures. I want to provide specifics on how I set up my homelab on a budget, how I approach problems in ML and 3D printing, and the troubleshooting techniques I pick up along the way.
